Where/how did you meet and how old were you?

  1. Steve and I met through a mutual friend when I was 28 and he was 27. My first impression of him was that he was very nice and really good looking, but he had a girlfriend at the time. Over the years, Steve and I saw each other at social events and bumped into each other on occasion (coffee shop, soccer games), but one of us was always involved with someone else. Then one night, out of the blue, I got a phone call from that same mutual friend who introduced us and she said, "I just gave someone your phone number." It turns out, she had been at a party with Steve (who was recently divorced) and told him that I was still single...

  2. Matt and I met in high school. Our best friends were dating each other, so they set us up. It was the beginning of his senior year and my junior year. We dated all year with the understanding that we would break up at the end of the summer because Matt was leaving for Florida State University. Neither of us were interested in anything serious. Haha...how'd that work out? -Ellen and Matt

  3. When Brett and I met, I was 21 and Brett was 19. We met working at the Goldenrod (a restaurant in York, Maine) each summer through college. We were good friends those first two years and a part of the same group of friends with whom we still remain close. Through those years we both dated different people and never thought twice about it. One summer, two years after we met and became friends, something was just totally different. We started dating and our friends commented, "Why didn't we see this before?" It just worked. Looking back, it was nice to be able to get to know each other first before any thoughts of a relationship hung between us. We knew from the beginning that we greatly enjoyed each other's company, and our relationship grew from there.

  4. I didn't remember the first time we met, though Ken did. What I remember first about Ken (aka Slatts), was his name. I was at a baseball game with a friend standing behind home plate. There was some laughter from the fans on the first base line and my friend said. "Slatts must have said something to the umps". I remember looking over to see who this Slatts character was, but coulnd't make out the wise ass from where I was. But from that day on, I couldn't get him out of my mind. I spent the summer thinking about this guy I had never even met, while dating my high school sweetheart. I knew by the end of the summer though, that if I was thinking so much about a guy I didn't even know, then I needed to end my relationship with my boyfriend. I finally did meet ken that fall and I knew then why I couldn't get him out of my mind all summer, it was meant to be....I know sounds queer, but really it's true. I have never been one who is short on words, but this guys rendered me speechless. I still remember our first kiss sitting on a cooler in the middle of his kitchen.

    1. Sheryl and I attended neighboring colleges at Potsdam, NY. She went to Clarkson University and I, the well known and better SUNY Potsdam.....lol (ask Erika, she went there too) We met on the dance floor at a party on my campus. The first time we danced together, we must have danced for an hour straight. We just seemed drawn to each other, I enjoyed exchanging dance moves with her, by the end of the night, some how, I lost her in the crowd, she left and I never got her name. So, channeling my inner CSI agent, my plan was to find this mysterious dancer.
So, at the next party, there she was, and once again we got to dancing, but this time, by the end of the night, I introduced myself, found out she went to Clarkson, and that we even shared some mutual friends. To make a long story short, after that night, we spoke on the phone for some time and instant messenger (AIM - when it was cool). Our relationship blossomed from that time on. Sheryl was 19 and I was 20. (Val)
