How long were you engaged?

6 comments:

  1. Steve and I were engaged for only three months. It was May when we decided that we wanted to get married. Since I was a school teacher at the time, we felt it would be best to plan a summer wedding and honeymooon. We knew that we didn't want a big fancy ceremony, but rather something more casual with family and close friends. We were able to plan exactly what we wanted for that August - an oceanside ceremony and dinner with immediate family and a clambake with friends and relatives the next day. We didn't see the need to have a more traditional year long engagement since we didn't need the year to plan an elaborate wedding and, more importantly, we were older and ready for this step in our relationship.

  2. Matt and I were engaged for a little less than a year. He proposed in October of 2000, and we were married in August of 2011. -Ellen and Matt

    1. Oops..that would be longer than a year. We were married in 2001. And to think, I've given Matt crap for forgetting our anniversary...:)

  3. Brett and I were engaged for almost exactly a year (a year and a week. ha.) We wanted to get married in Maine - in nice weather - and with being a teacher, summer was perfect for it.
